IASBO AWARDS PROGRAM

Indiana ASBO presents awards on a Regional basis and to three overall recipients of the Treasurer of the Year, School Business Official of the Year and School Support Professional of the Year.  This is a most successful program where IASBO can recognize members for outstanding contributions to the profession.  The following describes the awards program.  Please nominate someone in your region who meets the following criteria and has been a credit to the profession.  The awards will be presented at the IASBO Annual Meeting on May 10, 2012 in French Lick.

Treasurer of the Year Award

·         There will be one Treasurer selected from each IASBO Region.

·         A Treasurer will be nominated by an active IASBO member in his/her Region and the active members in the Region will vote to determine the regional Treasurer nominee.

·         One Treasurer from this group will be selected as “Treasurer of the Year” by the IASBO Awards Committee.

·         To be eligible, a Treasurer must be an active IASBO member.

·         The definition of Treasurer is a School Corporation Treasurer or Deputy Treasurer.

·         Each regional winner will receive a plaque at the Awards Dinner at the IASBO Annual Meeting.  News releases will be sent to local media and recognition letters will be sent to the recipient’s school board president and superintendent.

·         Nomination forms must be returned to the IASBO office by February 13, 2012. Nomination forms are available by clicking the appropriate link below.

·         Slate of candidates will be sent to IASBO active members by region by February 15, 2012.

·         Last day for completed ballots to be received by the IASBO office is March 2, 2012.

 

School Business Official of the Year Award

·         There will be one School Business Official selected from each IASBO region.

·         A School Business Official will be nominated by an active IASBO member in his/her region and the active members in the region will vote to determine the regional School Business Official nominee.

·         One School Business Official from this group will be selected as “School Business Official of the Year” by the IASBO Awards Committee.

·         To be eligible, a School Business Official must be an active IASBO member.

School Support Professional of the Year Award

·         There will be one School Support Professional selected from each IASBO region.

·         A School Support Professional will be nominated by an active IASBO member in his/her region and the active members in the region will vote to determine the regional School Support Professional nominee.

·         One School Support Professional from this group will be selected as “School Support Professional of the Year” by the IASBO Awards Committee.

·         To be eligible, a School Support Professional must be an active IASBO member in the following job area:  Accounts Payable, Facilities, Human Resources, Payroll, Purchasing, School Nutrition, Technology and Transportation.

·         Each regional winner will receive a plaque at the Awards Dinner at the IASBO Annual Meeting. News releases will be sent to local media and recognition letters will be sent to the recipient’s school board president and superintendent.
