APRIL EDITION OF IASBO INTERCOM

GENERAL ASSEMBLY UPDATE

Indiana ASBO has listed 49 bills that pertain to public education that were passed by the General Assembly.  All but one have been signed by Governor Holcomb.  He has yet to sign SB 309, distributed generation.  This is the solar energy bill that was pushed by the large utilities.  Several technology firms have contacted the Governor asking him to veto the bill.  Governor Holcomb must act on the bill by Tuesday, May 2.  IASBO will alert you what happens with SB 309.

 

DOE BUDGET WORKSHOP SCHEDULED

SAVE THE DATE!   The Indiana Department of Education Office of School Finance will sponsor a Budget Workshop on Wednesday, June 28, 2017.  The workshop will be held at the Warren Performing Arts Center, 9500 East 16th Street, Indianapolis, beginning at 9:00 a.m. EDT.

We plan to offer two methods of viewing the workshop.  The first option is a live audience at the Performing Arts Center.  The second option is to watch a recorded version of the workshop that will be posted in the Finance Community of the Learning Connection at a later date.

We will provide more information as the date approaches.
