DUAB SELECTS GARY EMERGENCY MANAGER
This afternoon, the Distressed Unit Appeals Board named MGT Consulting Group from Tallahassee, Florida as the company to work with the Gary Community Schools. Specifically, Dr. Peggy Hinckley was appointed as the Emergency Manager. Dr. Hinckley is a retired Indiana superintendent who is most notably known for her work at the MSD of Warren Township. This appointment is immediate and Dr. Hinckley and her team will begin tomorrow.
Position: Corporation Treasurer
Corporation: Southwest School Corporation
Serves as Treasurer and Bookkeeper of school corporation funds. Manages all receipts, expenditures and financial records of the school corporation as prescribed by law and the State Board of Accounts.
Qualifications: Minimum of three years experience in accounting, payroll, or office operations; Computer literate with emphasis on business software such as Microsoft Word and Excel, spreadsheets, e-mail, and data processing; Customer service oriented with the ability to deal effectively with the public; Experience with fund accounting for schools, government, banks, or non-profits is desired; Detail oriented with excellent organization, oral and written communication skills.
