Position:            Assistant Superintendent
Corporation:      MSD Washington Township

Salary:  Competitive Salary and Fringe Benefit Package Commensurate with Experience and Degree

Starting Date:  January 6, 2020

Must hold or qualify for Indiana Superintendent license  Principal experience-required Urban School experience preferred

The Assistant Superintendent reports to the Superintendent of Schools. Areas of responsibility for the Assistant Superintendent include:

 1. providing direction and supervision for student services division

 2. supervising and evaluating designated school district administrators including the Director of Special Services, Chief of Police, ENL Coordinator, Grants and Assessments Coordinator

 3. department oversight:  Safety & Security, Technology, Special Services (Special Education, Gifted & Talented, ENL)

 4. quality assurance coordinator for grants & assessments (Title 1, Title IX, Title VI) 

 5. participating in administrative personnel selection processes

 6. providing input for budget development for all student programs

 7. coordinating the enrollment process K-12 (Limited Choice, Non-Resident, Enrollment Balancing)

 8. level 1 of formal complaint process for students/parents K-12

 9. compliance, policy & administrative guidelines (updates, website, Board reps., handbooks, communications)

10. creation of district calendar (every 2 years)

11. supervising the effective implementation of supports for students receiving ENL and special education supports

12. monitoring school enrollments and the allocation of instructional, administrative, and support staff to schools and programs (JEL Career Center, True North, Opportunity/Transition School, Hilltop)

13. supervising district early childhood and preschool programming (Hilltop)

14. coordinating district school safety and security plans

15. developing and implementing district technology plans and supports

16. providing leadership for staff development programs for administrators

17. coordinating grant development and administration

18. working with School Board members to refine and develop policy

19. attend School Board meetings (Board Recognitions & when areas of oversight are on the agenda)

20. participation in Centralized Discussion (when areas of oversight are on the agenda)

21. developing and implementing a plan to conduct ongoing enrollment management

22. E-learning day implementation

23. coordinate expulsion process

24. School Improvement Plan submission and compliance with IDOE

25. coordinate activities in support of referendum

26. district advancement oversight

27. serve as acting Superintendent in absence of the Superintendent of Schools

28. performing other duties as assigned by the Superintendent

Position:            Payroll Clerk

Corporation:      Carmel Clay Schools

Primary Purpose:

Handle all the functions of payroll

Essential Functions:

  • Facilitate all day-to-day functions of processing payroll
  • Transmit payroll taxes, automatic deposits, PERF, TRF, pension, annuity and insurance information electronically
  • Train new secretaries on the input of timesheets and attendance.
  • Balance quarterly and yearly reports including W-2’s
  • Handle all year-end payroll functions
  • Process new PERF forms, retirement forms, and withdrawal forms
  • Troubleshoot payroll problems with the schools

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • High school diploma
  • Three to five years experience in payroll administration
  • Accounting knowledge preferred
  • Ability to work with a high level of accuracy
  • Ability to be flexible
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel and the ability to learn the Corporation’s computer programs
  • Ability to multitask
  • Excellent inter-personal skills

Physical and Mental Efforts:

  • General office environment
  • Occasional lifting


Work Relationships:

  • Work closely with the Director of Finance, Payroll Coordinator, Human Resources department, Benefits department, and school secretaries


Regular Work Hours/Travel Requirements:

  • Work 7.5 hours daily, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm
  • No travel required


This is a year round position that pays $18.62 - $21.84 per hour commensurate to experience.
